The purpose of the Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha (NESCO) is to oversee general College of Engineering (CoE) programs, student activities, and other concerns of the College’s students. In addition, NESCO serves to represent engineering students to the faculty and deans of the College and to the citizens of Nebraska.

The purpose of the Student Programs Fund (SPF) is to encourage CoE student groups to create interesting, unique, and meaningful opportunities for CoE students. Registered Student Organizations (RSO's) can request up to $1,000 per semester and may receive no more than $2,000 per school year. These requested funds may be applied towards appropriate expenses and will be disbursed as reimbursement for costs that will be initially covered by the student organization or members.

Any grant proposals will have to be approved by two-thirds of NESCO's voting members in order to be awarded. Registered student organizations will have to present to the NESCO general board on one of the pre-approved general board meeting dates to receive funding for the Spring Semester of 2022.

A grant was established in 2019 to further aid RSOs in providing beneficial activities for students. This funding is in addition to the standard SPF funding and is awarded for specific events, conferences, or activities (preferably off campus) that would not otherwise be affordable. This funding can be requested for both the fall and spring semesters, in the amount of 50% of your organization’s SPF request (for example, if you requested $1,000 for SPF for each semester, you can apply for an additional $500 per semester through this request). A grant funding form must be filled out and it will have to be approved in the same manner as the SPF funding.

On September 15, 2021 in PKI, NESCO will be holding a President's Round Table event where executive members from RSO's come in and ask questions about this process. Please reach out to Ben Weyeneth (bweyeneth@unomaha.edu) or Alyssa Haas (ahaas@unomaha.edu) if you would like more information about this event.

Below are the three required forms that detail the SPF process and provide examples of funding. These forms must be completed in order to receive funding for your registered student organization.
