During the summer of 2023, Ashley served as the Hydraulic Engineering Intern with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Omaha District). In the first picture, Ashley spent a day in the field analyzing bridge structures to create a hydraulic model using HEC-RAS and in the second, she's pictured with fellow interns celebrating their successful summer internship experiences. Ashley already plans to work with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers again with their Structures division during the summer of 2024.
Ashley is also passionate about giving back to others and has gained a lot of great experience and built strong friendships through her work with Engineers Without Boarders. In the first picture she spent a day cleaning up trash around the UNL campus and Salt Creek area. Then in the second picture she is seen helping promote the organization at the Big Red Welcome Street Festival.
