Expanding engagement opportunities by connecting with communities, the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host “Engineering the Good Life,” an engagement fair highlighting community-engaged teaching, research and service from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in the lower-level of the Design Hub at Kiewit Hall.

More than 20 engineering faculty will showcase hands-on projects spanning robotics, housing, manufacturing, computing, sustainable infrastructure, rural education pathways and other impactful areas as attendees meet the students and faculty behind the work. These projects connected with partners across the state - including industry, schools, organizations, and cities across Nebraska – as well as nationally and internationally.

Additionally, the fair is designed for employers seeking engineering talent, organizations exploring university research capabilities, and community partners looking for expertise to address local or operational challenges. The event will provide an informal setting to see project results and begin conversations about potential collaborations.

Lance C. Pérez, Fred Hunzeker Dean of Engineering and Omar H. Heins Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will offer brief remarks at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
