Yusong Li, associate dean for faculty and inclusion in the College of Engineering, is among 16 faculty and academic leaders selected for the 2026-28 Developing Excellence in Academic Leaders (NU DEAL) program by the University of Nebraska.
NU DEAL brings faculty and academic leaders from across the University of Nebraska’s four campuses together for leadership development and discussions about issues facing higher education. Participants also have opportunities to build relationships and learn from one another’s experiences.
Also named to the program are Santosh Pitla, co-director of the University of Nebraska Artificial Intelligence Institute and professor of biological systems engineering; Joe Luck, professor and interim department head of biological systems engineering; and Jamie Reimer Seaman, faculty senate president-elect.
Li is widely recognized for her leadership in advancing faculty development, inclusive excellence, and institutional culture across the College of Engineering. She is also a graduate of national programs such as Executive Leadership in Academic Technology, Engineering, and Science (ELATES) and the Big Ten Academic Alliance Academic Leadership Program, and a recipient of multiple university and college honors.
