UNL Engineers are developing technologies and procedures to protect our nation’s security through development of sensors and devices, cybersecurity protocols, technology to protect people and facilities. Nebraska’s economy is heavily driven by infrastructure-based companies that provide design and development work for safe and secure buildings, transportation systems, bridges, computer networks, and related physical infrastructure. Nebraska engineers perform research to develop new networks, systems, and facilities to lead innovation in our Built Environment with an emphasis on innovation use of information systems. College of Engineering activities address the NAE Grand Challenges to Restore and Improve Urban Infrastructure and Secure Cyberspace.
